Waynesville High School

Total Square Footage: 242,500 square feet
Cost: $2,200,000

A new high school was built for the capacity of 2,000 students by adding classrooms and expanding the Media Center. This high school was a non-traditional school design comparable to the architecture at Fort Leonard Wood, at 30% of the cost. Which were the Waynesville R-VI School District’s requirements for Sam A. Winn and Associates, Architects, P.C. in 1995. This facility was a reality in 20 months following creative funding available by state legislative changes. Our firm met this challenge on a 34 acre site with room for future athletic fields, earthwork completed, considerable paved parking areas, expansion capabilities for the additional classrooms, natatorium, and planetarium. This new high school was completed in February of 2005.
